Struggling with constant pain due to overly large breasts? You’re not alone.
Many women face daily discomfort, skin irritation, difficulty finding fitting clothes, and pain in their shoulders, neck, and back due to enlarged breasts.
Discover how breast reduction surgery can help you regain comfort and a proportionate silhouette.
Have your breasts grown beyond what feels comfortable—perhaps during puberty or after breastfeeding? You are not alone, as many women encounter similar struggles such as:
Constant pain in the back, neck, and shoulders, making the simplest tasks feel daunting.
Rashes or infections under the breasts from continual friction, adding stress to your daily routine.
Lack of well-fitting bras and clothes, leaving you feeling self-conscious about your appearance.
Anxiety in social settings because of enlarged breasts.
If these challenges sound all too familiar, breast reduction surgery could offer the relief and comfort you’ve been looking for.
Breast reduction surgery removes excess breast tissue, fat, and skin to relieve discomfort and create a breast shape more in proportion with your body frame. The size and position of the nipple and areola can also be adjusted during the same procedure to enhance overall balance.
Depending on the amount of reduction needed, different incision patterns will be used, each resulting in a specific scar placement and appearance.
Commonly used for larger breast reduction cases
Incision around the areola, vertically down to the fold, and horizontally along it
Allows the largest amount of tissue manipulation
Circular incision around the areola plus a vertical incision to the inframammary fold
Suitable for modest or medium-sized reductions
Leaves more minimal scarring compared to an Anchor incision

The cost varies depending on the degree of ptosis and the volume of breast tissue. Generally, surgical fees range between $6,000 and $18,000 in Singapore.
There’s no absolute breast volume required. Breast reduction is suitable for women who experience discomfort from heavy breasts, such as shoulder pain, back pain, neck pain, or rashes under the breast.
Yes, it’s possible to exercise after breast reduction. However, please wait at least six weeks for your wounds to fully heal and stabilise before resuming. Start slowly with light activities, and then gradually increase intensity.
Discomfort is generally well-controlled with oral painkillers. You’ll receive adequate medication to manage any pain. Wearing a supportive compression garment can also help reduce swelling, further minimising discomfort.
